Technical Details: |
Generally all soft-bodied insects will be effected. |
Neemtech acts by blocking the breathing pores of soft-bodied insects,
killing them by asphyxiation. |
Contains citronella oil to act as a selective insect
deterrent. |
Potassium soaps are the only effective control for Thrips
Palmi. Commonly used broad spectrum pesticides are quite ineffective
against the pest itself and will kill the
natural predators of Thrips Palmi allowing the Thrip population to explode. (Young and Zhan -
Agnote No 753/15 issued by DPIF NT, Australia, 1998) |
Ill effects on beneficial insects are reported to be minimal
when used according to manufacture's instructions. |
To date there are no reports of resistance build-ups.
However, these would be very unlikely considering the mode of
effect/action. |
Manufactured from cold pressed vegetable oils including neem oil. |
Potassium soap base promotes healthy plant growth. |

Comment |
| Outdoor |
1.5 - 3.0 L/100 L of water |
Spray when insects are
evident. Ensure target pest is covered with spray mist. |
| Indoor |
15 - 30 ml/L of water |
As above. Use the lower rate in integrated pest control programs
and on tender or new growth. |
Note: Mix dilution well. Use good quality, soft water (pH
6-8). The use of hard water may cause precipitation - a water
softener or spray oil may be needed. This product is a
contact insecticide and should be used well-mixed in conjunction with
high pressure spray equipment. Target pests must be in direct
contact with the spray mist. Spray when pests are evident.
Repeat next day if pest numbers have not greatly reduced, or when
pests re-emerge. Spray foliage to run-off point. To minimize risk of harm to plants, spray in cool weather, early morning
or preferable late afternoon. Test a small section of crop for
compatibility. |
