Technical Details
Developed and produced for the horticultural industry to improve plant cell structure and health; therefore improving crop yield and quality.
Silicon is an important component of cell walls in plants.  Adequate silicon levels produces a stronger, tougher cell wall increasing the mechanical barrier to leaf sucking insects (eg aphids, mites) and piercing.
Sufficient silicon levels enables the plant to deposit a protective barrier against fungal and viral disease at the site of infection.
Improves leaf erectness, therefore improving photosynthesis and chlorophyll production.
Increases drought, heat and frost tolerance.
Assists in the prevention of iron and manganese toxicity.
Also contains phosphorous, potassium and boron to work in conjunction with silicon as vital plant nutrients.
Reports have shown an increase of yield in cereal and sugar cane crops of up to 25% with similar results in cucurbit crops.
Promotes significant early flowering for mangoes.
Silicon is in a plant-available form unlike the silicon found in a typical soil.
Applied as a foliar spray, silicon is deposited directly where required by the plant.

Analysis
Element Analysis    %   Present as:

Phosphorous (P)  2.0 Potassium phosphate
Boron (B)    0.5   Boric acid

General Dilution Rates
 Method Dilution
Foliar 10 ml/L or 1:100 (1 part concentrate to 100 parts water) minimum
Ground (soil) 10 ml/L or 1:100 (1 part concentrate to 100 parts water)
Note: For delicate plants or tender new growth, reduce dilution to 2 ml/L (or 1:500) for foliar application.

Crop Specific Application Rates

Please note: These suggested application rates are in addition to a normal fertilising regime.  Volumes given in this table refer to concentrated product.  The concentrate must be diluted depending on the method of application (see table above) prior to use.

Important:  Application rates will vary with soil types, climatic conditions and prior cultivation practices.  The application rates suggested below assume that soil and climatic conditions are conducive to the particular crop intended.  Therefore the information below is a broadly-based indication only.
Crop Suggested application rate in addition to  normal fertilising regime

Tropical Fruits:
Mangoes
Citrus
Rambutan
Jack Fruit
Lychee
Custard apple
Five corner
Pineapple

1.5 ml/m2 of canopy (or leaf cover for pineapples) as foliar application at the end of February, end of May and end of July.

Recommendation is based on the reduction of photosynthesis for Kensington Pride (KP) mangoes from the end of March until harvest.  Similar cycles are suggested for rambutan, lychee, custard apples and five corners
Banana 10 ml/stool per month as foliar application OR 20 ml/stool per month as soil application.
Pome
Stone Fruit
1.0 ml/m2 of estimated canopy size of tree at bud burst AND 1.5 ml/m2 of estimated canopy size of tree just after fruit set as soil applications.
Vegetables:
Peas
Beans
Melons
Cucumber
Pumpkins
Sweet corn
Tomatoes
1.5 ml/m2 per week as foliar application OR 3.0 ml/m2 per week as soil application from first show of flower to end of harvest.
